Meet Our Team

Charlie Francheville
Director – CMTC

Charlie brings to the CMTC his strong skills in people management and project management.  Charlie has 38 years working in the public service sector in Employment Counselling and as a Customized Training Manager at the Community College level.  Charlie has been with CMTC since 2009.

Bev Young
Training Administrator

Bev brings to CMTC over a decade of experience as an educator in the public sector.  More recently she has worked in the Community College in Student Services.  Bev has been with CMTC since 2011.

Fran Foster
Student Services

Fran has spent her career as an educator and Guidance Counsellor in the public school system.  She has done consulting work with the Department of Education working in the Options and Opportunities program as a mentor.  Fran has been with CMTC since 2009. 

Glen Chaisson
Instructor for Scaffolding

Glen has a strong background as a professional Scaffolder and Rigger.  He has been teaching with the college since 2004.  Glen is a highly energetic and motivated instructor and has high expectations for the students he works with.

Leo Dorey
Instructor for Interior Systems

Leo has been teaching Interior Systems since 2008 but his knowledge stems from over 15 years in the trade.  As a Journeyman Carpenter, Leo has over 38 years in the industry and strives to pass along to his students as much wisdom as he can.  “If you are willing to learn, I am willing to teach.”

Michael Grant
Casual Instructor/Formwork

Mike has 40 years plus experience as a formwork Carpenter.  One of his career highlights was as the General Foreman for the Confederation Bridge.  Michael stresses that formwork is a physically demanding profession, and fast paced.  He looks forward to sharing his wealth of knowledge with new and seasoned students.

Lisette Garant
Casual Instructor

Lisette brings 15 years experience, 13 plus as a Red Seal Carpenter to the College.  She has been involved in instructing a variety of courses here at CMTC since 2010.  Lisette has also been involved as a mentor and role model for women thinking of entering the trades for various community organizations.

Robert Hanifen
Casual Instructor/Scaffolding/Safety

Robert has been scaffolding for nearly a decade and as a journeyman since 2006.  After working in Western Canada for the past seven years, Robert is pleased to join the team of instructors at CMTC.  “Scaffolding is hard work – it’s intense, but you will learn so many things.”

 Scott Keeping
Casual Instructor/Red Seal Exam Training

Scott has been a Carpenter for 15 years and has his Red Seal.  He has started teaching the Journeyman Upgrade Course at CMTC in 2011 and is enjoying the challenge and thrill of being an instructor.  He has had 5 years experience as a Foreman with a prominent local construction company and years of experience as a building inspector.

Paul Bellefontaine
Casual Instructor/Various Courses

Thirty years of experience as a Journeyman Carpenter has given Paul a wealth of knowledge which he has enjoyed passing on to students for the past 5 years.  Paul has taught at the community college and at now at CMTC since 2010.  Paul loves the versatility of the carpentry trade and how every day can be a different experience.
