Gallery — Premier Dexter Visits CMTC
June 2, 2011 – Premier Darrel Dexter visits CMTC as part of ACRC Conference
Premier Darrell Dexter took the opportunity to tour CMTC after addressing the delegates at the inaugural convention of the Atlantic Canada Regional Council of Carpenters, Millwrights and Allied Workers (ACRC) held on June 2 and 3 at the College.
As part of his speech to the delegates, the Premier spoke on the theme of cooperation and the resultant economic benefits to the region when we work together. He also touched upon the recent agreement to produce hydro-electricity out of Muskrat Falls (part of the Lower Churchill Falls project) and the National Shipbuilding Procurement Strategy. At the conclusion of his speech, the Premier took a few minutes to speak to Council representatives and then toured the College. The visit provided an excellent opportunity for CMTC to showcase its facility and programs to the Premier as well as to the visiting delegates of the conference.
